Sending party is obliged to cover:

  • scholarship holders' international travel costs to and from Slovakia

Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic is obliged to provide scholarship holders with:

  • a scholarship:

· of 620 €/month for university students. 



The scholarship shall cover their living costs (accommodation, board, etc.) during their stay in Slovakia.

Submission of applications
The application has to be submitted to the respective Ministry in your country (mostly Ministry responsible for higher education and/or research, or Ministry of Foreign Affairs). After your home Ministry makes a selection of candidates, it will sent the application forms of selected candidates to the Ministry of Education, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic.

Selection procedure
The selection procedure for this scholarship is involving several steps:
  • the application is reviewed at the national level of the country of origin (home country)
  • candidates selected at the home country level are nominated for the scholarship in Slovakia, their application documents are sent by the respective Ministry in the country of origin (home country) to the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic
  • Slovak Ministry reviews the nominated candidates and if the applications comply with the rules of the respective Cooperation Programme it accepts the nomination (the applicant's home Ministry will be informed about this decision)
  • the accepted candidate shall be informed about further details of his/her stay in Slovakia by the respective Ministry in the country of origin or by the designated institution.
